Lawn Fertilization & Weed Control in Spokane, WA
A lawn can look otherwise healthy and still be starving. Spokane’s alkaline, basalt-derived soil often limits nutrient uptake regardless of how much fertilizer goes down, which is why our program is built around the actual chemistry of the ground here — not a generic national schedule pulled off a bag. We also flatly refuse to fertilize during peak summer heat stress, since that’s exactly when it does the most damage.
What’s Included
- Seasonal fertilization timed to spring green-up and fall root development
- Weed identification and targeted treatment — common Spokane weeds include quackgrass, knapweed, and bugloss
- Selective spot-treatment for light weed presence, broader treatment where infestation has taken over
- Soil-aware application rates built for alkaline, basalt-influenced ground
Why We Don’t Fertilize in Peak Summer
Fertilizer pushes fast growth, and fast growth needs water and cool temperatures your lawn simply doesn’t have in the middle of July. Apply it during a heat wave and you’re far more likely to burn roots and leaves than green anything up. We time applications for spring and late summer/early fall — the windows when Spokane grass can actually put the nutrients to use instead of struggling under them.
